BINGE OR SKIP: LIVE BLOGGING NETFLIX’S THE ULTIMATUM

Earlier this month, a new reality TV show hit Netflix and has topped the charts ever since. The Ultimatum, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey who designed the show after a similar experience in their life. One person gave an ultimatum, “Marry or Move on?” and they both took some time to date other people. They came back to each other ready to take the next step.

The Ultimatum? What’s that?

The show follows six couples with one person in each couple giving an ultimatum. They then temporarily end their relationship and explore dating the other people on the show. After a week of dating different people, they make a choice of who they want to live with for the next few weeks. At the end of this reality show experiment, the couples have to decide, do they marry? Or do they move on?

After hearing about how this show and its rise in popularity, my boyfriend and I were intrigued. I, for one was interested in it from a psychology standpoint. Does distance make the heart grow fonder? What is the driving factor in which these couples decide to split up on reality TV? My boyfriend was more interested in it for the entertainment and so he could make fun of the people on the show. Either way, we decided to see what the hype was all about.

Below is a series of live thoughts, opinions, and feelings while watching the fourth episode of The Ultimatum. Enjoy!

6:15 p.m. - Rae seems to have some issues with jealousy from her previous boyfriend… uh oh!

6:18 p.m. - AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Rae and Jake just kissed!!!

6:19 p.m. - They’re still going…

6:23 p.m. - Even though Randall really likes his new relationship with Madlyn, he is still worried about the what Shanique is doing with Zay.

6:27 p.m. - Shanique is finally allowing Zay to sleep with her in bed instead of on the couch.

6:30 p.m. - Rae took Jake to meet her dad who is a race car driver! This could either be really good or bad.

6:33 p.m. - Rae’s dad approves of Jake way more than Zay.

6:35 p.m. - Madlyn’s friends meet Randall for the first time. All of them seem to like Randall better than her ex, Colby.

6:46 p.m. - Jake takes Rae to meet his parents. His mom thinks that he is rushing into this relationship. She doesn’t seem to approve of Rae. Yikes😬

6:54 p.m. - Randall and Madlyn are thinking about intimacy. This is about to get wierd.

7:01 p.m. - All the girls get together for dinner and talk about their relationships.

7:03 p.m. - Dog fight!! Zay and Colby get into a big argument during guys night out.

7:04 p.m. -

7:05 p.m. - Madlyn tells April she feels like she talks too much and talks over people. April talks over her the WHOLE time.🙄

7:14 p.m. - It’s crazy how bold Madlyn is. She is so opinionated and isn’t afraid to speak her mind no matter how it makes someone else feel.
